This is where it starts

Well, Richard a friend of mine has been very enthusiastic lately about internet marketing.

I think the term is a little ambiguous but for a lot of people this seams to mean 'write an ebook and sell it to as many people as possible'.

The products are sold trough sites like Clickbank. But, it seems the real marketing is not done by the people who own the books, this is all done through affiliates, its like a kind of internet multi-level marketing scheme.

The affiliates market the product for you and when they send a visitor to your site, they actually send them via clickbank who do all the tracking. On the way a cookie is set on the visitors computer and if they ultimately buy, within a specified timescale, the affiliate picks up a healty share of the sale, this can be up to 75% of the sell price.

So I decided to give it ago, a lot of people seem to spend a lot of money on pay per click advertising to try to get trafic to their sites, and then to send them to the real seller. There really is a lot of people who seem to be paying a lot of money for these ads, so it seems, at least on the surface that there is money to be made. I'm a little bit sceptical as to whether there is a living to be made, but if there is a bit of a second income for not much work i want to give it a go.

Utlimately, i am developing a piece of software called the Pda Golf Buddy, and i am also investigating if i could use this method to sell it (thats if I ever get it finished)

So I have set up my first site The Golf Guru. This is basically going to be a link site that talks a bit about some of the products available and hopefully entices people to click the links and maybe buy the products.
